Major responsibilities:
1) Implement, test, compare, document and provide support for different database backend technologies for the International Crop Information System (ICIS)
2) Database administration

3) Develop/maintain the following software applications:
- ICIS Installation Diagnostic Tool (for troubleshooting)
- ICIS Data Validation Tool (for data quality checking)
- ICIS Administrator's Tool (for routine admin tasks)
4) Lead the adoption and use of collaborative tools (including CropForge and CropWiki) within the ICIS and GCP communities.
A bit of history...
Prior to joining CRIL, I was a Programmer at IRRI's T.T. Chang Genetic Resources Center (July 2005 - December 2006). I was involved in the project of migrating the legacy IRRI International Rice Genebank Collection Information System (IRGCIS) to the Genetic Resources Information Management System (GRIMS) for the International Rice Genebank, an application that uses ICIS tools.
